457 – Wage and Contribution

Reporting Wages for the 457 Program

MERS requests that employers report wages for employees enrolled in the MERS 457 Program. Employers will have the option to enter in information through the Employer Portal or by filling out and uploading a template to the reporting portal. For more information, view this video that covers how to report wages.

Process to Submit Participant Enrollment Information to MERS

Employers can enroll new hires in the 457 Program by simply adding them to their payroll file.

Beneficiary Information

Once a participant has been added to your municipality’s payroll file, MERS will mail participants their beneficiary forms along with other plan-related information. Participants will return the completed forms to MERS and we will update their record.
