
One of the most important things you can do for yourself, and your family, is to name BENEFICIARIES and keep information updated in our records. By having this information in place, you are saving your loved ones’ time and stress during already difficult circumstances.
Keep in mind, you may have multiple MERS accounts (Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution, Health Care Savings Program, 457, IRA). Each account has its own beneficiaries and often different rules and options available. Please make sure you go into each account to keep your information updated. Do this for all of your other financial accounts as well – even outside of MERS.
