Description: A notice was sent to primary and HR contacts at municipalities with defined benefit and hybrid letting them know the the MERS Retirement Board has extended the waiver on the requirement that rehired retirees with a MERS DB Plan can work a maximum of 1,000 hours in a calendar year. The waiver is now in effect until 12/31/2027. Employers are asked to continue reporting rehired retirees through the Working in Retirement Certification form.
