MERS staff will provide an in-depth overview on:

• The defined benefit plan and how it works, including provisions offered and where you can locate your municipality’s specific benefit structure so you can see how reporting ultimately impacts your employees’ retirement benefits.
• Some of the common compliance and reporting issues we see when employers submit monthly reports.
• A live demonstration of the reporting process.

We’ll wrap up the day with a chance to ask questions and chat with your peers. You’ll walk away with a better understanding of the reporting process and how to avoid making errors that could have unintended consequences and result in additional time spent correcting them in the future.
