A postcard reminding HR contacts at HCSP municipalities about the new requirement to file 1094-B and 1095-B forms (because of Affordable Care Act regulations) was mailed on 12/14/2016. ​

A copy of the postcard is attached to this announcement.

Please note: The IRS recently extended the deadline for employers to provide a completed copy of the 1095-B form to the affected participant.  The MERS resource page has been updated to reflect this new date.  We have also added additional reminders that municipalities may need to file other healthcare-related tax forms and they should consult their benefit providers to ensure they are in compliance. 

MERS will have the data to assist employers complete the 1095-B forms available through the Employer Portal on 12/20/16.  More information will be updated on the MERS website as soon as this information is available. 

Action Item:  File 1094-B and 1095-B forms with the IRS by the deadlines indicated here.  Provide a completed copy of the 1095-B form to each affected participant by 3/2/17.
