Spokane, Wash.-based firm to invest in micro-cap domestic equity
February 14, 2013 -

MERS of Michigan recently committed $25 million to Downriver Capital Management's Small- to Micro-cap Domestic Equity Value Strategy.

The Spokane, Washington-based firm offers one of the best domestic equity portfolios of its size in the country, combining price, performance, and value, said Jeb Burns, MERS Chief Investment Officer.

"Downriver Capital does their homework," Burns explained. "They pay particular attention to insider buying versus selling. They buy unleveraged assets at a discount when it is confirmed that the assets are mispriced in the public market. That's the kind of due diligence we look for in our investment managers, and the kind of investing that pays off for our members."

Downriver Capital Management was founded by William Lang, CFA in Spokane, Washington. In addition to Small- to Micro-cap domestic equity, the firm also offers Tactical Exchange-Traded Fund products, as well.
