MERS Communication Corner

MERS is committed to communicating with our participants and employers on relevant issues and benefit information. The MERS Communication Corner is here to help you organize recent mailings or emails that were sent from MERS, so that you know what was sent and any action that needs to be taken.

Please note: All mailing dates are approximate. Large mailings such as account statements can vary up to two weeks from the mailing date.

Format: Mailed Letter from Alerus on behalf of MERS


On 10/15, Alerus sent required minimum distribution (RMD) letters to the 160 participants who are have not yet satisfied their 2019 RMD. 

Alerus also sent a letter to participants who are age 70.5 or older and are still coded in the Alerus system as actively employed. This letter is mailed to ensure participants don’t miss any RMDs in the event of a missing termination date in the system.
